casa continued

Casa

Entering the apartment, has entra hallway where you can go to living room, laundry/storage room or to the right a large kitchen.  Down to the left is three bedrooms.  Hallway bathroom, the other bathroom is located next to bedroom.  A big sunroom is for hanging your clothes on two lines.
In June, I bought a couch so more guests could use and I changed everything to the left side of the room.  Now my neighbors across can't see me at the study desk, and I fixed some new sheer green curtains for more of privacy.

Beach of Tarrafal

A cobalt sea, string of litttle coves and a flat land under the forbidding mountains are what make Tarrafal.  The beach sports, fishing, sunbathers is great for soft white sand, and artists displaying their wares.

Elder and Sister Broderick from Mindelo are down here meeting town officials for one of their welfare projects.  Such a great couple from Danville, California, not too far from where Mike and Carrie live.  He is retired from Chervon.

Tarrafal

The 80km trip from Praia along the central road takes two hours and allugueresleave all day.  I left at 8:00 AM and switched in Assomada and picked up women with their market produce to take up the road.  It had started raining, and umbrellas came out on the streets.  I could have worn a sweater!
This is where the women took their bags of corn, and fruits to the market place.

Assomada

The drive from Praia to Assomada is 1 1/2 hours of spectacular views when jagged clifftops come into view.
An attractive town at the heart of Santiago famous for its museum and market.  The market of Assomada is one of the largest on the island, crammed with agricultural products and crafts.  It is the central collection and distribution point for products produced throughout the surrounding countryside. ( You can see some of the wares in next story of Tarrafal)

Sal

Esargos draws its unlikely name from the wild, yellow-flowered, red berried asparagus bushes that are said to grow on sandy parts of the island
The arrival at Sal on an international airport descent indicates rocky planes, on the coast line, you see fancy resorts, and in the southern island is tourist city of Santa Maria with 11 miles of pure white sands, and crystal clear aquablue waters.
Sal is a top windsurfing, kitesurfing and surfing destination and offers good diving and fishing  and largest number of organised tourist activities.  My visit is to seek out the local medical facilities, just a one day trip, but I will return another time.
